Tom Schulte
Tom serves as the Partner-in-Charge of the RBZ Assurance Services Group. A significant part of this practice resides in the Middle Market niche. Most of these clients are pre-public and many are venture capital portfolio companies. A great deal of this time is spent in dealing with mergers and acquisitions associated with the middle market. Many of his other clients are nonprofit organizations, where he has devoted a significant amount of his personal time as well. Tom aggressively brings problem-solving, timely communication and personal service to his clients - the same ingredients he used during his 10 year tenure as managing partner of RBZ. During his tenure, RBZ increased from 33 to 90 professionals and its revenue increase 400%.
Tom’s commitment to service extends beyond RBZ through his personal involvement within the community. Tom is the former Chairman and Treasurer of Easter Seals of Southern California and currently retains a seat with the Board of Directors. He is also on the Board of Governors of UCLA Extension and is a member of the Finance Committee of Guidestar.org. Tom has either been the Chairman or Treasurer for the California Association of Nonprofits, Los Angeles Business Council, Los Angeles County and California chapters of M.A.D.D., San Fernando Valley Girl Scouts Council, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Accounting Alumni Association. Tom also donates his time to instruct accounting courses for the California Society of CPAs and several additional trade, university, and community organizations. From a corporate standpoint he is a member of the Board of Directors and chairs the Audit Committee for a NASDAQ-traded manufacturing company located in Southern California.
Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Tom graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has been honored as the UC Santa Barbara Accounting Alumnus of the Year. Tom is also a graduate of Leadership Los Angeles and is frequently a featured speaker at Chamber of Commerce events, nonprofit organizations and trade association meetings.
